Appliances on TADs installed during one visit
The appliances on TADs require prior location outline of the temporary anchors, as well as preparation of a surgical template. Subsequently an appliances on TADs is produced in line with the design. During a single visit, a doctor is able to insert the implants using a template to mount the ready-made appliances upon.
Necessary data and information:
- CT scan (CBCT) covering the surgical field,
- intraoral scan or impression,
- camera design,
- determination of type of implants and materials from which the appliance is to be made (e.g. PSM system).
Working procedure
- tomography and scan data are submitted (lab),
- implants are initially positioned (lab),
- implants are set in final positions (doctor),
- a template design is created (lab),
- a template is approved by the doctor,
- a template is printed and a ready-to-use, appliance are produced (lab).
Appliances on TADs installed in a two-time procedure
In this procedure, the introduction of implants and the construction of the device are separated. Implants can be inserted using a template or “by hand” at the doctor’s discretion. The appliance is made based on the data of already inserted implants in order to mount the appliance on these implants. The insertion of implants can be planned and navigated using a pre-ordered template.
Necessary data and information:
- appliance design,
- determining the type of implants and materials from which the device is to be made (e.g. PSM system),
- intraoral scan made using scanbody or impression with “caps”,
- optional tomography (not necessary).
